AutoShow debut at Expo Center Norte on 10/18

The largest used car fair in the country now offers more convenience at the Expo Center Norte exhibition center. The meeting between buyers and sellers will count on strict health and safety protocols.

After six months of suspension due to the pandemic, the AutoShow, the largest gathering of buyers and sellers of used cars in the country, now takes place at a new venue: Expo Center Norte, one of the largest and most complete exhibition and convention centers in Latin America and part of Cidade Center Norte, a multi-use complex that also includes Center Norte, Lar Center and Novotel Center Norte. The reopening takes place on October 18th, Sunday, at 7 a.m. following all the health and safety protocols required by the competent authorities and keeping its traditional format, which is the meeting of buyers and sellers in a physical space to negotiate cars.

“After 42 years in Anhembi, we are moving to a new address with the convenience of a very traditional place in São Paulo, just like our fair. We will have more space, great facilities and the whole structure and services for everyone to get back to negotiations in AutoShow fairs with safety and certainty of good business”, explains Dudu Natrielli, AutoShow CEO.

For customers and regulars, the traditional AutoShow will offer new services such as a wide parking area, more space to display the cars on site, restrooms and the convenience of the infrastructure such as a food court close to the event venue. Overall, the Expo Center Norte has a parking capacity for 7,000 vehicles and the space will operate as a fair from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. “We are happy with the new partnership between AutoShow and Expo Center Norte, because our customers will have an infrastructure at their disposal and can continue the Sunday plans at Center Norte and Lar Center, and, besides that, we will now be closer to the subway and keeping the tradition of the fair in São Paulo’s northern region”, adds Natrielli.

The fair’s format will be maintained with an exhibition of used vehicles, the AutoShow.com.br site’s classifieds, a support team with services such as dispatcher, research of fines and issue of transference and cautionary reports, service counter and a wide parking space. Besides the site, AutoShow is present in social media like Facebook, Instagram (@feiraoautoshow) and with the traditional AutoShow Fair program, which reaches more than 50,000 people per week on the Internet.

Paulo Ventura, director superintendent of Expo Center Norte, reinforces that the AutoShow Fair marks the gradual resumption of the enterprise’s activities. “We are very happy to host the fair. At this moment, our main concern is to care for the health and well-being and to offer safe environments to everyone – employees, exhibitors, partners, suppliers and visitors. Thus, we are reinforcing all the mandatory measures and protocols adopted and which must be strictly followed by promoters for the fairs”, he says.

The health and safety measures and protocols adopted by AutoShow include:

  • Mandatory use of protective mask by everyone;
  • Temperature check at the entrance;
  • Access control, with limited maximum capacity;
  • Signs to promote distance between people;
  • Frequent cleaning in all spaces.

About AutoShow
The AutoShow is the largest used car event in Brazil. Now held on Sundays at Expo Center Norte and Shopping ABC, in Santo André, it brings together just over 5,000 vehicles per week and generates R$ 50 million in businesses. The event is a meeting point for buyers and sellers of vehicles, bringing together services such as dispatching, financing, and on-site cautionary inspection, as well as parking and all the convenience at the two addresses.

The AutoShow fair started in 1972 as the “Feira Livre do Automóvel” in front of the Pacaembu stadium, an initiative of Walter Ribeiro dos Santos. At the end of the 1970s it moved to Anhembi, where it grew and accompanied important moments in history with two currency changes, countless economic plans and different governments. It inspired TV programs about cars still in the 1980’s, like Programa do Carro, and in the 1990’s it was already on the internet with an online classifieds site. Currently taking place at Expo Center Norte and Shopping ABC, the AutoShow Fair offers convenience to customers in a safe environment and the certainty of good businesses every week.

About Expo Center Norte
Founded in November 1993, Expo Center Norte was developed to consolidate the northern region of the city of São Paulo as a hub for fairs and congresses. The enterprise comprises a facility with a capacity for events of any size, besides featuring modern equipment and a privileged location. The success of the operation is clear by the evolution shown since day one: there has been a gradual increase in total area, which was originally 377,000 square feet, is now over one million square feet and comprises five pavilions and 21 auditoriums. The modular Convention Center was designed to have up to 4,500 simultaneous visitors and is the largest in São Paulo. The expansion of the pavilions’ area and the construction of the new Convention Center, in 2009, made the enterprise one of the most flexible and complete venues for events in Brazil. After the renewal it now places São Paulo at the same level of first world cities when it comes to holding fairs and congresses. Expo Center Norte is part of the Cidade Center Norte multipurpose complex, which also features Center Norte, Lar Center and Novotel Center Norte.
