Expo Center Norte hosts Luminna Fest, a big indoor Christmas lights festival

Designed by Ripa Cenografia and sponsored by Center Norte, the event will present more than 150 light sculptures that can only be seen during a car ride, with all the necessary safety and care.

From December 4 to 27, Luminna Fest will take over Expo Center Norte, one of the largest exhibition centers in Latin America and part of Cidade Center Norte – a multi-use complex that also includes Center Norte, Lar Center and Novotel Center Norte. The event, created and developed by Ripa Cenografia, will surprise visitors with more than 150 sculptures lighted by leds in a scenography that explores the charm and magic of Christmas. In a course of 1 km in an area of over 65 thousand m², passing through four pavilions of Expo Center Norte, the ride features three main themes: ‘Gardens’, with elements of nature and animal world; ‘Ludic’, going through fairy tales and classics; and ‘Santa Claus’, with scenarios of the North Pole and Lapland.

Technology will be a great ally of Luminna Fest, which follows all the health and safety protocols established by the competent authorities. An app will display some surprises during the circuit, which lasts approximately 25 minutes and is done exclusively by car. At the entrance of the event, there will be a food service structure with service through a QR Code, which will be available upon arrival to visitors, and with delivery in a drive-thru system, being allowed to eat only inside the vehicle. All the members of the car will be checked for temperature and it is mandatory to wear a protective mask at all times while at the event.

Tickets are sold in advance at Sympla website and app (www.sympla.com.br) according to availability for the date and time, which are chosen at the time of purchase. There are more than 30 sessions per day, with a limit of 42 cars each. The price is charged by car.

“The Luminna Fest was inspired by traditional Christmas events that I have seen in the United States, but with all the necessary adaptations for the current moment. Our main concern is to offer, above all, safety. With that in mind, the visit happens 100% of the time inside the cars in order to keep the public social distancing at all times. I emphasize that the event is totally inclusive and was planned to promote a unique and unforgettable experience for the viewers,” explains Paulo Rizzo, founder and CEO of Ripa Cenografia and creator of the Luminna Fest. He also highlights the importance of having Center Norte, traditionally known for its Christmas celebrations, as a sponsor of the event.

“We are very happy with this partnership with Lummina Fest, which will enrich Christmas at Cidade Center Norte even further. It is an event that promises to enchant and thrill not only children, but the whole family. It will be a great success. I would like to reinforce that some actions extend to the Center Norte. Our clients will be surprised already at the entrance of the parking lot with light tunnels, which will be spread in some of the car accesses, and communications at the gates”, comments Guilherme Marini, executive director of Center Norte.

It is worth mentioning that the event’s staff will undergo constant training in order to better serve and guide visitors. Upon entering the pavilions, all employees will have their body temperature measured. The bathrooms will be cleaned frequently and there will be social distancing norms and the mandatory use of protection masks to stay in the place and circulate in the common areas. All stations of the attraction have emergency exits for those who need or choose to leave before the end of the route, at any time, without interrupting the show.

In order to help transform the Christmas of many families and children from the Zaki Narchi community in the north are of São Paulo, Luminna Fest will promote a social campaign to collect non-perishable food and toys. The initiative takes place in partnership with Instituto Center Norte, a non-profit organization that aims to help residents of the communities in the north are of the city, and the collection station will be at the entrance of the event. “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been promoting actions and engaging our employees, store owners and customers from Center Norte and Lar Center, partners and the community on behalf of those in situations of social vulnerability. We are committed to continue helping those who need it most and we invite everyone to join us in this initiative in order to benefit and transform Christmas for the largest number of families”, adds Daniela Pavan, Sustainability Manager at Cidade Center Norte.

About Expo Center Norte

Founded in November 1993, Expo Center Norte was developed to consolidate the northern region of the city of São Paulo as a hub for fairs and congresses. The enterprise comprises a facility with a capacity for events of any size, besides featuring modern equipment and a privileged location. The success of the operation is clear by the evolution shown since day one: there has been a gradual increase in total area, which was originally 377,000 square feet, is now over one million square feet and comprises five pavilions and 21 auditoriums. The modular Convention Center was designed to have up to 4,500 simultaneous visitors and is the largest in São Paulo. The expansion of the pavilions’ area and the construction of the new Convention Center, in 2009, made the enterprise one of the most flexible and complete venues for events in Brazil. After the renewal it now places São Paulo at the same level of first world cities when it comes to holding fairs and congresses. Expo Center Norte is part of the Cidade Center Norte multipurpose complex, which also features Center Norte, Lar Center and Novotel Center Norte.
